Issues Faced

Complexity Hindering Scalability :

As TravelTriangle scaled rapidly, some agents were managing 150+ leads in the payment funnel at any point in time.

The Challenge in Closing Accounts:

The interface was not designed for scale, creating errors and slowing agents instead of helping them.

  • Insufficient payment summary

  • Dates not in chronological order

  • System auto-posts identical amounts in positive and negative tranches

  • Adjustments listed separately without context

LEVERAGING DATA-CENTRIC EVIDENCES

Problem space understanding through, complaint tickets & stakeholder interviews and surveys.

Targetted Design Solution

Targetted Design Solution

Primary user: The account owner on the agent side, responsible for reconciling business transactions with TravelTriangle.

Goal: To ensure that all dues from TT and the traveler are fully received, with no outstanding balances, and that all records are accurate and aligned with agreed terms.

The 4 scenarios to watch out for in the summary view (collapsed)

THE IDEAL STATE
If the amount in the box on the top left is zero, and no red highlights, that’s when you know the Job is well done.

THE GOOD
The amount in the box is above zero with no red highlights, then it is so far so good, and some of your payments are in process.

TAKE ACTION
The amount in the box is a number above zero and there are some red highlights- means your money is blocked and you must check for details.

NEED YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION
The box itself is red when the amount is a number below zero. You have received more money, means you owe money now to TravelTriangle.

The Important Elements of the Summary View.

The agent's objective is to take the necessary action to bring the ‘pending receivable’ to zero, which is the ideal state to be aspired for.

Narrative strategy in the detailed view (open card)

The narrative structure enables clearer discovery, efficient use of space, and a smooth linear flow from A to G, confirmed through user testing.

User testing validated the usability and expected usage patterns, boosting confidence to continue iterative improvements.

Design Strategy

After analysing the payment system and user needs, the strategy aimed to simplify workflows, improve clarity, and help agents prioritize quickly while retaining full control.
